I have read the various reviews on this organisation and I am disappointed. I have been a patient since 1980 approximately and have always, throughout that time, been extremely satisfied with the service. It is true that there have been problems since the amalgamation but I would ask what people expect. It has been my experience that those who shout loudest are those who would not entertain the idea of criticism of themselves. Everyone makes mistakes but, overall, this practice - I take into account the views of friends and others who are patients elsewhere - is as good as, or probably better than one would find anywhere.

The doctors and nurses are fantastic but the administration and reception team are a disgrace. Since the merger with Brixton Water Lane it takes 30-40mins on hold to make an apt and when you eventually get through there are very few apts available. The surgery say they have a new phone system and hired 2 new staff but i have seen no signs of this. The receptionist team and unfriendly and impatient and lack basic customer service training. After 40 mins on hold i made an apt to see a nurse. When i arrived i was told the nurse was off and they needed to reschedule my apt. No one apologised to me or offered a feasible solution. I have only ever received excellent care from the doctors and nurses but the admin team behind the surgery really let it down.

Ever since water lane merged with Herne Hill it is so hard to get an appointment. I call first thing and fully booked. I tried three days in a row and ended up having to go sit in the waiting room for 2 hours to wait for a cancellation and was then sent straight off to a&e. This is not a GP service. It's appalling and something needs to be done about how they run appointments. I feel like I don't have a gp anymore as I can't ever get an appointment.

I can't believe how good this practice is - I've been relocated here from the old Water Lane Surgery and the service is really outstanding. I've had a few complications with results being delivered and the staff behind the counter have gone out of their way to help me out. Service is great and getting an appointment was quick and easy. Can't recommend enough!
